Josefina de Vasconcellos has
produced hundreds of sculptures that can be seen in this country and around the
world. Josefina studied at the London Polytechnic under Harold Brownsword, in
Paris under Bourdelle, in Florence under Andreotti and at the Royal Academy
Schools.
Two world wars inspired Josefina
to design and make some of her most famous sculptures. The eight-foot Prince of
Peace, a war memorial in Aldershot, The Last Chimera, which is in the Canongate
in Edinburgh and The Hand, a war memorial at St. Bees School.
