Poculum petiolarum Cyathicula petiolorum, or possibly Poculum petiolorum, painted by Beatrix Potter from a specimen found at Lakefield, Sawrey, Cumbria, 31st August 1896

Mycena galericulata Mycena galericulata var. calopus, or Bonnet Mycena, painted from a specimen found at Sawrey Cumbria, 1896

A very common species found at almost any season of the year, growing in tufts on old hardwood stumps. One of the larger species of Mycena, the caps may be up to 2 in. across. Colour varies from dingy grey to smoky brown. Can be eaten, but of little interest; see Massee, MacDonald

Mycena metata Mycena metata, or probably Mycena filopes, painted from a specimen found on a black-currant bush among moss, Lakefield, Sawrey, Cumbria, 25th September 1896.

Cap is bell-shaped with thin, soft flesh.Edible but without flavour. Findlay.
