includes:

day to day running of a garrison and the ever-present danger of the enemy!

genuine Roman artefacts excavated from the Roman fort of Galava at Waterhead.
Find out how archaeologists work and how they record their findings. A
handling session lets children feel what it means to be ‘in touch with the
past’ Do things get better? Compare a Roman Mortaria with food
processing methods from different periods.
- Tackle the problems of Roman numeration, learn
how the Romans counted. Play the games of Tabula and knucklebones testing
arithmetic and tactics!
